Understanding Domestic Abuse Workshop
​
Our Understanding Domestic Abuse training is a half-day workshop, delivered in person. We are therefore only able to offer this training in the Swale and Medway areas of Kent at the moment.
​
This Workshop was made with teacher training for schools in mind, however we are able to offer this training to other professionals and organisations who feel they would benefit from it.
​
Understanding Domestic Abuse training is designed to help staff identify potential warning signs of domestic abuse, understand the impact of domestic abuse on the children and their ability to learn, and to know where to access further advice and support for victims / survivors.
The main outcomes from this workshop are for participants to:

Understand what Domestic Abuse is

Understand the impact of Domestic Abuse on children & young people

Recognise some early warning signs of an abusive relationship and knowing where to signpost victims for support

​On completion of the Domestic Abuse training participants will receive PDF resources to keep and a completion certificate.

Supervision
We can offer Supervision for staff in your organisation who work with ‘high-risk’ children and families at risk of abuse, such as your Designated Safguarding Leads.
Supervision is an opportunity for staff members to discuss their caseload and take advice or guidance on anything they’re finding difficult to manage or resolve. The personal impact on professionals who deal consistently with high-risk families is huge and Supervision is imperative for continued good practice, maintenance of mental & emotional health, and prevention of burn-out.
Supervision sessions are delivered virtually, last for up to 2 hours, and may be for individuals or groups of staff. Supervisees will receive Supervision notes from each session to support their professional development.
Supervision is priced per session and available nationally for virtual sessions.
Therapeutic Stories
Here at JLTS we have published a number of Therapeutic Stories, and even offer a Bespoke Therapeutic Story writing service!
Therapeutic stories offer a gentle way to introduce children to challenging emotions or experiences.
​
These stories mirror everyday events or characters in a subtle way, allowing children to process them at their own pace. Through these parallels, young readers can relate to the themes, helping them draw connections to their own experiences. This approach creates a safe space for meaningful conversations that might have otherwise felt overwhelming.
Story Sacks and Emotional Toolkits

JLTS has created a one-stop resource designed to support your students’ emotional intelligence and build their wellbeing and resilience.
​
Story Sacks offer an engaging way to make storytime immersive. Pair them with our customised therapeutic resources and a tailored lesson plan for adults, and you have a comprehensive toolkit for PSHE lessons focused on emotional intelligence and well-being.
​
Our Story Sacks are specially designed to make it easy for adults to engage with children around their emotional health and wellbeing. The stories work well on their own as tools for self-regulation or co-regulation, while the Story Sacks are designed for use with groups or entire classes.

If you’re unsure how best to support a child or family, get in touch for an initial chat and we’ll see if we can help. If we can’t, we’ll do our best to signpost you to someone who can.
What we offer...

Initial telephone consultation to outline the issues and ascertain the services required.

If we can help then we will arrange a meeting (either virtually or face-to-face) to discuss the details to help us form an Initial Assessment / Proposal for you - a nominal fee will be charged for this planning meeting, which will be deducted from the cost of the service should you decide to go ahead.

Following verbal agreement to proceed with our services we will put together a Plan / Proposal of work for you, along with a Service Agreement, and will carry out the service.
